Allen Ottaro is the Founder and Executive Director of the Catholic Youth Network for Environmental Sustainability in Africa (CYNESA), based in Nairobi, Kenya, with chapters in 10 African countries. He is also a member of the steering committee of the Global Catholic Climate Movement (GCCM), and serves on the Ecology Commission of the World Christian Life Community (CLC).
Since 2015, he has served as a member of the climate change working group, under the Justice, Peace and Development department, of the Symposium of Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar (SECAM).
Allen is passionate about engaging young people and faith communities in promoting environmental sustainability, with a strong social justice perspective. He has a keen interest in bridging the gap between environmental policy and practice, and participates actively in policy dialogue fora.
