Dr Sylvia Croese is an urban sociologist who is a research associate with the African Centre for
Cities at the University of Cape Town and a senior researcher at the School of Architecture and
Planning at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa. She was also the 2020 Chair of the
Technical Committee for the Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovations.
