
Dr Sheila Ochugboju
Dr Sheila Ochugboju is the Lead Consultant for the start-up phase of NAWE. She developed the African Science Cafes network which was launched by the British Council in 2007 in South Africa. She is now supporting NAWE to launch the Earth Science Cafes platform.
Sheila is an International development professional who trained as a research Scientist in the UK, with a Ph.D in Biochemistry from London University, followed by a PostDoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Oxford, focused on genetically modified viruses. Over the last 20 years she has supported decision-makers in global policy-making in the UK, Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco.
She is a TED fellow and co-founder of Africa Knows, an online African stock photography website and knowledge management consultancy, driven by a determination to reflect the beauty, resilience and opportunities on the African continent.
